Galen changes name to Warner Chilcott

Pharmaceutical giant Galen Holdings today announced it will change its name to Warner Chilcott.

Shareholders in the Northern Ireland company overwhelmingly approved the change of Galen’s name at an extraordinary general meeting held yesterday.

The news was released to the Stock Exchange today.

Following Galen’s exclusive focus on the US market, the directors decided that the operational title of Warner Chilcott will “simplify company recognition, creating a unified trade name and corporate identity”, a company statement said.
