The FTSE 100 Index was testing levels not seen since early May today as falling oil prices and a rally by mining stocks cheered investors.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was also at a two-month high after adding 84.5 points last night as oil prices eased to just over $37 (€30.60) a barrel.
