Low-fares airline Ryanair is celebrated a record-breaking month for European passenger numbers.

To date, 45 million Irish passengers have flown with Ryanair, with 14 million Italian passengers and eight million French.

Paul Fitzsimmons, Ryanair’s Head of Communications said: “All over Europe this month we have hit significant milestones in our passenger numbers.

“Ryanair has revolutionised air travel in Europe, enabling millions of ordinary people to fly at affordable prices to destinations across 16 countries.

“Since Ryanair began flying, over 85 million passengers have saved €8.5bn with Ryanair’s low fares”.

Ryanair's shares were down 1c on the ISEQ at 10.30am, at €4.55.
