ISEQ falls back 15 on mixed day
The ISEQ index of Irish shares began the week on a negative note, slipping 15.38 to 5,326.13 at close today.
Financial stocks had a mixed day today. Allied Irish Bank climbed 10c to €12.35 while Bank of Ireland was up 6c to €10.71.
Anglo-Irish Bank fell 15c to €13 while Irish Life & Permanent rose 15c, ending the day at €12.70.
Building group Heiton, which owns Atlantic Homecare, reported an increase in pre-tax profits to €28.8m, a rise of almost 30% on 2002. Shares in the company slipped 10c to €6.60.
Ormonde Mining posted total losses after taxation for the year ended December 31, 2003, of €449,383.
The company announced it had net assets of €1,258,137 and is hopeful of new discoveries in Morocco. Today shares in the company were unchanged at 11c.
Pharmaceutical group Elan had a tough time today, dropping 55c to €18.20.
Elsewhere Paddy Power climbed 10c to €9.20 while FBD rose 20c to €14.90.
