UK business group to battle EU constitution

A group of business leaders in Britain today announced a new campaign against the EU constitution.

The cross-party “Vote No” campaign aims to bring together business people and others to lead a drive against the constitution.

Michael Spencer, head of ICAP, the world’s largest money broker, said: “The constitution means transferring more control from Britain to the EU.

“It is an old-fashioned document because in the modern world we need make decisions closer to the people, rather than further away.”
