British shoppers against M&S takeover

Shoppers in Britain have given the thumbs down to a possible takeover of Marks & Spencer by entrepreneur Philip Green, research in the UK showed today.

Almost two-thirds of people polled by research group ICM for magazine Retail Week said new chief executive Stuart Rose should be given time to spark a trading revival.
