Flagship Spar store wins industry awards
Spar Ireland's new flagship store on Dublin's Camden Street has swept the boards at the Checkout Gold Awards for excellence in the retail industry.
Noel Smith, who owns and runs the store, received Independent Retailer of the Year, while Spar Camden Street also took home the award for Large Convenience Store of the Year.
The €5m convenience store opened in December 2003. It employs 50 people and was the 400th Spar to open in Ireland.
Spar aims to have 500 stores throughout the country by the end of 2006 as part of its retail development strategy.
