US firm makes major Belfast investment
Belfast received a major boost today with the news that US firm Ocwen is to establish a data centre and technical support facility in the city.
The Florida-based software company will invest £4.7m (€7m) in a project backed by Invest Northern Ireland.
Initially, 12 jobs are to be created in the venture which has been described as having tremendous growth potential.
The data centre will feature state-of-the-art technology and provide half of all processing capacity and communications support for Ocwen's worldwide operations.
It will also serve as a global communications hub supporting international voice and data traffic transport, routing and monitoring.
Invest NI chief executive Leslie Morrison said today: "It is creating very high quality, high value jobs and introducing new technologies that will further enhance and diversify the skills of Northern Ireland's workforce."
