Enterprise Ireland target expats in business
Enterprise Ireland is to target young Irish professionals in London to help build a network of expatriate contacts in business there.
The news comes as an Enterprise Ireland study showed 45% of Irish professionals working in London are employed in the banking and financial services sector.
Those working in law came second at 20% while the rest were employed in the consumer and creative industries, such as publishing and the arts, according to the survey.
Today Enterprise Ireland revealed the dedicated networking group, "Young Irish Professionals" (YIP) will be launched by Enterprise Ireland and has attracted more than 1000 members so far.
Laura Turkington, senior market adviser at Enterprise Ireland said: "As the network develops, we will be looking for ways to build commercial relationships among our members, with Enterprise Ireland at the centre of the mix.
"We will also be looking to exploit ways in which Irish professionals in the UK can act as ambassadors for Irish companies looking to develop international markets," Turkington added.
