Ford focuses on Chinese market
Ford unveiled a new version of its best selling Focus in Beijing today – the eve of China’s biggest car show – courting buyers in the world’s fastest-growing market.
The company said the decision reflects its strategy of developing cars with Chinese buyers in mind.
The new four-door Focus has more interior and boot space, more advanced engineering and European styling for status appeal, according to Ford.
“Chinese consumers face a very challenging road, and they’re not going to be content with hand-me-down cars,” said Mark Schulz, Ford’s executive vice president for Asia Pacific and Africa.
