Carphone Warehouse tops expectations

Mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse today hailed the success of its move into the fixed line market as it predicted a surge in customer numbers.

London-based Carphone, which recently turned up the heat on rival BT with a free calls deal, said it expected to have 900,000 TalkTalk customers in the UK by next March, against analysts’ expectations of between 600,000-700,000.
