New luxury hotel to open in August

Belfast’s newest luxury hotel will be open for business at the end of August, it was announced today.

The £14m (€21m), four star Radisson SAS on the edge of the city centre at the site of the old Gas Works, will bring another international hotel chain to the city.

Stuart Grant, general manager of the 120-bedroom hotel said: “This is a very exciting development for Radisson SAS. This will be a stylish hotel offering a range of world class facilities coupled with our warm friendly service and ‘can do’ attitude.”

Many of his senior management team is already in place and a recruitment drive is underway to fill the remaining 60 full-time and 20 part-time jobs being created at the hotel.

The hotel will house five suites, five meeting rooms and a restaurant seating almost 100 people and bar open to non residents.

Mr Grant said: “As tourism becomes increasingly important to the Northern Ireland economy, we’re looking forward to bringing our own unique brand of service and style to tourists and business customers in Belfast.”

He said many people would be familiar with the Radisson brand and he was keen to build on that in the local market place and to forge strong working links with the local community.

Radisson is already in Northern Ireland – with a hotel in Limavady – and has others across the border in Athlone, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Letterkenny, with another opening in Sligo next month.
