An American takeover of Manchester United could be in the pipeline, which would create a €120m windfall for Irish businessmen JP McManus and John Magnier.

A report in this morning’s Sunday Business Post says that Irish financier Dermot Desmond met US sports tycoon Malcolm Glazier earlier this month.
