U.S. job growth continued at a rapid pace in April, as 288,000 new jobs were created and the unemployment rate fell to 5.6%, the Labor Department said today.

U.S. job growth continued at a rapid pace in April, as 288,000 new jobs were created and the unemployment rate fell to 5.6%, the Labor Department said today.

The report revised up its estimates for job creation in both February and March. It said 83,000 jobs were created in February and 337,000 in March instead of the 46,000 and 308,000 respectively it had previously estimasted.
