Writers seek DVD share
Hollywood writers and producers ended their contract talks with no new deal, but both sides pledged to continue negotiations this week.
The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers exchanged proposals a day after the deadline for an agreement passed.
Writers are trying to gain a larger share of profits from the £10bn (€14.8bn) DVD market.
The WGA has not asked members to authorise a strike but the possibility is still there.
Producers concede they have reaped millions of pounds from home video sales, and that DVDs have become a major source of revenue.
