Systems Solutions, Ireland's leading IT solutions provider for the pharmacy sector, has been awarded the prestigious World Class Innovation Award at the ICT Excellence Awards.

The World Class Innovation Award was awarded to Systems Solutions for producing innovative products, principally its QicSCRIPT product.

QicSCRIPT enables independent pharmacies and pharmacy chains in Ireland and the UK to manage their business more effectively in an increasingly competitive pharmacy market. Its features include comprehensive dispensing, integrated Medicines Management, Minor Ailments handling and Robotics.

Combined with its innovative Head Office module and integrated message queuing, transport and replication technology, QicSCRIPT is the first distributed pharmacy application in Europe to deliver a patient medication record that is stored both locally and centrally at Head Office.

"Systems Solutions is delighted to win the award for World Class Innovation. Our strategy is to deliver world-class pharmacy software to a variety of markets. Winning this award is a further demonstration of our ability to deliver on this strategy and to develop quality products that provide our customers with a competitive advantage and enable them to spend more time with their patients," said managing director Nick Strong.

Established in 1987, Systems Solutions is the leading supplier of software to Irish pharmacies, with 65% market share in the community pharmacy sector. In 1998, Systems Solutions began exporting to the UK hospital market and its CliniCHEMO application is installed in UK hospitals including Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
