Cambridge Mineral Resources announced today positive progress in the drilling and exploration programme at the company’s Lomero-Poyatos polymetallic deposit located within the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Spain.

The exploration company said its results from drillhole L04-48, the first to test the northwest conductive target at Lomero-Poyatos, are positive and confirm massive sulphide extension.

Given the successful intersection of massive sulphide by each of the current drillholes, the directors have decided to engage an additional drill rig to the project.

"These are clearly early days and there are many more targets to test. However, initial drilling results indicate the potential for a significantly extended deposit at Lomero-Poyatos," executive chairman Michael Thomsen said.

Cambridge Mineral Resources also said there is high potential for new discoveries to the west at Las Merinas, northeast and northwest of the known deposit with the possibility for significant expansion indicated.
