According to the Irish Life & Permanent group's annual report chief executive David Went was paid an increase of €124,000 last year.

Went's salary jumped from €822,000 in 2002 to a total of €946,000 for last year, which includes a salary of €630,000 and a bonus of €278,000.

Of the other directors, Peter Fitzpatrick received a package worth €638,000, while Denis Casey was paid a total of €490,000.
