Irish commercial and office removals company Beverly Smyth & Sons has expanded into the British market, purchasing Rentacrate for €6.5m.

Irish removal company expands to Britain

Irish commercial and office removals company Beverly Smyth & Sons has expanded into the British market, purchasing Rentacrate for €6.5m.

Rentacrate, a subsidiary of British support services group Hays, has an annual turnover of around €7m.

Hays offers personnel services primarily for high-end positions in accounting, banking, construction, and information technology.

Its customers include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deutsche Bank, and KPMG, and the group has sold its records and information management operations as well as its crate rental business.

The Beverly Smyth group includes Beverly Smyth in Dublin and Nat Ross in Cork and employs 90 people.

The company, owned by Niall and Sheila Doris, has an annual turnover of €10m.
