BAA wins 10 year US retail management contract
BAA plc announced it has been awarded a 10 year retail management contract at Baltimore/Washington International airport.
The agreement starts once the airport's new A/B terminal complex is completed in 2005.
The airport operator will invest $10m (€14.70m) in the shell and core of the facilities, and $2m (€2.94m) for further refurbishments.
BAA will be in charge of the responsibility for the design, construction, sub-leasing, tenant co-ordination, management and marketing of over 140,000 square feet of food, retailing and catering services.
An interim contract commences in May with the management of existing space and detailed planning of evolving project.
CEO of BAA, Mike Clasper said, "We will continue to seek similar opportunities in the US and elsewhere."
The retail development is part of the $1.8bn (€2.64bn) capital expansion programme at the airport.
