Employers urged to look at technology for disabled

Assistive technology can provide solutions which make accessing employment easier for people with physical disabilities, Enable Ireland has said.

The organisation's current supported employment and assistive technology (SEAT) project aims to provide high tech assistance to those with disabilities wishing to access employment.

An electronic door opener, an alternative computer keyboard or a word prediction software package can make a huge difference to people with physical disabilities, according to Enable Ireland.

An Employer breakfast seminar examining the ways these issues can be addressed will be held in Dublin next Thursday.

The SEAT Project was developed by Enable Ireland in conjunction with the East Coast Area Health Board.
