Vodafone bids for AT&T

It has been reported that Vodafone, the word's number one mobile operator, has bid around $35bn (€27.47bn) for AT&T Wireless.

Cingular Wireless, the number two US wireless group, has made a similar bid, setting the stage for a bidding war between the two mobile giants.
