Air traffic controllers to strike at French airport

A strike by air traffic controllers is expected to cause severe disruptions all this week at Orly airport in Paris.

An earlier strike, last Wednesday, forced the cancellation of 60% of flights at Orly, but completely spared Paris’s other main airport, Roissy-Charles de Gaulle.

This week’s strike is expected to have similar effects. Called by two trade unions, the walkout is to start tomorrow and end at 4pm on Friday.

Trade unions are protesting at plans to reorganise air traffic control services.
