The ISEQ closed down 12 points to 5041 as Ryanair continued to slide and the banks failed to maintain an early morning rally.

BOI closed down 8c to €11.00 and AIB shed 7c to €13.00. Anglo was a gainer today, up 8c to €13.00 and Irish Life and Permanent lost 8c to €13.62.
