Dutch retailer Ahold hopes to sell two of its US supermarket businesses by the end of 2004.

Dutch retailer Ahold hopes to sell two of its US supermarket businesses by the end of 2004.

Analysts believe the sale of the Bi-Lo and Bruno's chains could raise $1bn (€780m) to assist the company's debt burden.
