Cassani resigns from M&S to focus on Olympic commitments
Marks & Spencer Group said today that Barbara Cassani has resigned from her position as non-executive director of Marks & Spencer Group due to her increasing commitments to London's bid for the Olympic Games in 2012.
Cassani, aged 44, is well known for having launched low-cost airline Go in 1998, while working at British Airways.
Cassani set up Go with £25m (€36.6m) backing and then led a management buyout from BA before selling on the airline a year later to easyJet for £374m (€547m).
