Luton-based low cost carrier EasyJet has reported a 12.3% rise in January passenger traffic, saying it was 'cautiously optimistic' about the outlook.

The British airline said it carried just fewer than 1.7 million passengers last month, up from 1.5 million in the same month a year ago. Its seat load factor was steady at 77%.
