Dow slide halted by buyers

Buyers enticed by Wall Street’s depressed prices moved back into the market today, giving stocks a moderate boost after a slide lasting more than two weeks.

Muddled economic news on the labour market sent the major indexes fluctuating in the first part of the session, but investors shook off any concerns and all of the major indexes had turned higher by the close of trading.
