British-based fitness group sees continued growth

LA Fitness PLC said the positive trading performance reported at the Annual General Meeting last November has continued since then.

The group has over 50 clubs across Britain, as well as clubs in Dublin, Armagh, and Belfast.

It also said that based on its current trading experience, and the availability of new site opportunities, it will steadily increase its club opening programme during the next financial year, funded largely from cash flow.

The company said its membership has grown to over 190,000, an increase of 15% over the last six months from the existing estate, boosted by its successful sales experience in January.

The LA Fitness group was formed in 1996, and says it has averaged about one club opening per month since then.
