New appointments at Vodafone

Vodafone Group announced today that Gavin Darby, currently Chief Executive of Vodafone UK, has been appointed chief executive Americas Region with effect from April 1, 2004.

Darby will be reporting to Julian Horn-Smith, group chief operating officer.

Vodafone also named Bill Morrow, previously chief executive of the Japan Telecom fixed line business, as the CEO of Vodafone UK with effect from February 1, 2004.

He will be reporting to Peter Bamford, chief marketing officer and CEO of the UK and Ireland region.
