Commercial vehicle registration decline in Europe
ACEA, the Association of European Car Manufacturers, has reported that commercial vehicle registrations in West Europe dropped by 3% year on year to 531,720 units during the fourth quarter of 2003.
The figure reflects a 2.8% drop year-on-year in light commercial vehicle registrations in the EU, and a 3.4% drop in trucks over 3.5 tonnes in EFTA countries.
Spain and Britain were the strongest performers, with fourth quarter results up 11.1% and 10.3% respectively.
Italy experienced a sharp decline, with registrations down by 26.2% year-on-year.
Full year figures show a 1.4% decline in commercial vehicle registrations in West Europe.
