French consumer prices up 0.1% in December

The French final consumer prices index (CPI) for December showed a rise of 0.1%, unchanged from provisional estimates, according to figures from the Insee statistics office.

Compared with the same month last year, CPI was up 2.2%.

The statistics office said CPI excluding energy was up 0.1%, and excluding tobacco it was also 0.1% higher on the month. Both were unchanged from provisional estimates.

Food and tobacco prices were down 0.3% month-on-month, unchanged from the provisional, while manufactured goods prices rose 0.2% in December.

Services prices declined 0.3% month-on-month.
