Trinity Mirror completes sale of Irish titles

Trinity Mirror said today it has completed the sale of its regional newspaper businesses in Ireland to venture capital group 3i for £46.3 m (€67.2 m), after the Irish Competition Authority gave the all-clear.

The seven papers being sold include the Derry Journal, Donegal Democrat and Belfast's News Letter.

Trinity Mirror put its Irish newspapers up for sale in last July as part of a strategic review of its business, when the firm's chief executive Sly Bailey decided the Irish titles were non-core assets.
