FLS Aerospace to cut jobs in streamlining operation

Denmark based FLS Aerospace, which employs 1,500 in Dublin, said today that a planned restructuring of its UK and Irish operations will result in a reduction of 8-10% in its workforce.

The changes are designed to improve the financial position of FLS Aerospace and will include concentration and streamlining of operations. There are no details yet on how Irish workers will be affected.

FLS Industries said the restructuring would not affect talks on the sale of the subsidiary, which were continuing. It is thought that the Swiss-based SR Technics may be interested in the company.

FLS entered the Republic in December 1998 following its takeover of Team Aer Lingus.
