Argos cashes in on over €180m in Irish sales
Sales at the Irish outlets of catalogue retailer Argos reached €181.1m in year to September 2003.
The Milton Keynes bases group has 18 stores in Ireland employing a permanent staff of approximately 550.
The company is owned by retail giant Great Universal Stores (GUS), which in turn owns Homebase DIY and Burberry.
Argos plans to open new outlets in Dublin, Cork and Galway later this year.
The retailer is expecting double-digit sales growth over the Christmas period across its British and Irish markets, since sales were up 7% in the three months to September last year.
