ISEQ opens with firm gain
The ISEQ opened in the black for the tenth session in a row with a firm gain of 20 points, or 0.41%, up to 4992.
The financial sector was mainly up. AIB added €0.03 to €12.83 and BOI was up €0.05 to €11.05.
Anglo dipped €0.04 to €12.86 from a record high on Friday and Irish L&P was the winner here, jumping €0.25 to €13.00.
Fruit and vegetable distributor Fyffes continued in Friday's busy vein and was the most active stock this morning, with 1.5m shares traded, rising €0.04 to €1.71, its highest level since May 2000.
Elsewhere, movers included Elan, up €0.16 to €5.58. Anthony O'Reilly's Independent News & Media was also busy, trading ahead €0.04 to €1.95.
Trinity Biotech shed €0.40 to €4.20 reversing a recent climb. Shares in the Irish biotechnology company surged last week in the wake of Food and Drug Administration approval of its breakthrough HIV test.
