SRH Irish operations performing well
Scottish Radio Holdings (SRH) earned almost €8m last year from its Irish radio and newspapers interests, which include Today FM, the Kilkenny People and the Tyrone Times.
Turnover in Ireland rose to €28m from €19m the previous year, while pre tax profits jumped by 67% to €7.8m.
The figures have been revealed in the SRH annual report, released ahead of the firm's annual general meeting later this month.
SRH values its Irish assets at UK£58.3m(€82.8) and is currently attempting to take-over FM104.
The Competition Authority is currently examining the proposed €26m takeover of the Dublin music station.
Under competition law, if the Authority considers there to be "no substantial lessening of competition" from a merger it will get approval in Phase 1 of an examination. The FM104-SRH deal has now moved to Phase 2.
