Barrys buy Batchelors in Northern Foods deal

Northern Foods has agreed to sell its Irish operation, Northern Foods (Ireland) Limited (NFIL) which incorporates the Batchelors baked beans brand, to Barry's Tea for around £66.8m (€94.94m).

The Hull-based operation is to sell its main subsidiaries including Batchelors, Beck Smith, Sqeez, Amigo, Picnic and Lustre to Maiden acquisitions in a joint venture between Barry’s and Bank of Scotland, Ireland.
