Hillery appointed non-exec director at INM

Dr Brian Hillery has been appointed non-Executive Director of Independent News and Media.

Dr Hillery is currently Chairman of UniCredito Italiano Bank (Ireland) PLC and Chairman of Providence Resources PLC.

He has served as a TD and as a member of the Seanad.

He was subsequently an Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and a Director of ICC Bank.

Dr Hillery was also Professor at the Graduate School of Business in UCD and is currently a Member of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector and a Board Member of The Fulbright Commission.

Yesterday INM announced that it was to cut its workforce worldwide by up to 600. Reports this morning indicated that 90 of these losses could be in Dublin.
