Transport company Walsh Western Ireland (WWI) has announced the creation of 40 new jobs at its Limerick call centre.

Transport company Walsh Western Ireland (WWI) has announced the creation of 40 new jobs at its Limerick call centre.

This new facility will replace a smaller, existing operation in Co Clare.

The centre is to the base for the company's in and outbound calls for Ireland and mainland Europe.

It will have new IT infrastructure, incorporating a new automated call centre management and phone sytem.

Walsh Western currently employs approximately 1,000 people in Ireland, Britain and Holland, with reported revenues of €160m for 2003.

The firm expects to hire more staff in the near future as its business expands.
