ISEQ up in line with Euopean bourses
In Dublin, the ISEQ list of shares was up 0.30%, or 14 points to 4767 at 10.30am today.
There were no major movers in the financials today.
Anglo moved up €0.10 to €12.20 continuing yesterday's climb and Irish L & P was down again at €0.02 to €11.90.
The main banks were nearly unchanged : AIB up €0.02 to €12.24 and BOI up €0.01 to €10.54.
Construction stocks were on the rise.
CRH closed up €0.03 to €16.10. The company's takeover with Samsa of French building firm Doras was yesterday approved by the European Commission.
Heiton was up €0.05 to €03.78 and Grafton group gained €0.05 to €5.50.
The drugs companies were mixed.
Elan was up €0.05 to €4.70. The company announced today that it will retain its drug delivery and acute care business in the US after all.
Northern company Galen was unchanged and United Drug was down €0.03 to €2.27.
There was heavy trading at Waterford Wedgwood with over 2.4m shares traded.
The luxury products group closed up €0.02 to €0.23. Chief Executive Redmond O'Donoghue picked up 1.2m shares yesterday, raising his share investment.
Greencore was up €0.02 to €3.20, The company announced yesterday that Bank of Ireland had raised its client's holding in the food group from 16 to 27%.
Elsewhere Ryanair was up €0.09 to €6.27 and tool maker Oglesby & Butler was a big faller, shedding €0.15 to €0.20.
In London the FTSE100 was up 0.34% to 4346.2. In France the CAC was up 0.66% and Frankfurt's DAX followed the upward trend- up nearly 1%.
On the currency markets the euro is worth £0.699 and $1.223 this morning.
