LogicaCMG to partner with City & Guilds in 'shop window' initiative
LogicaCMG is to partner with Britain's provider of vocational qualifications - City & Guilds, in the first phase launch of a business change programme.
The programme will enable all the vocational provider's products to be viewed and ordered from the internet. This will allow for the first time, all course information to be accessed from a single location.
An integrated business support tool, named SOLAR (Single Online System for Information Access and Retrieval), is being developed by LogicaCMG, based upon the Campus Management, CRM and other modules from SAP.
The first Phase of the programme will provide an Internet based "Shop Window" accessible to more than 5,000 approved FE colleges and training providers in Britain, to over 3,000 overseas centres and to staff within all eight of City & Guilds' worldwide locations.
John Cocks, head of IT at City & Guilds said he expects to see significant business gains as a result of the initiative.
