LogicaCMG wins £100m NHS contract
LogicaCMG has said it has been awarded a 10-year contract expected to be worth over £100m (€141.8m) as a member of the BT Group team for the NHS National Programme for IT within the UK's National Health Service.
The BT team will design, deliver and manage a nationally accessible patient record database and transactional messaging service.
LogicaCMG will develop the core database applications to store and update the national patient records.
The company was formed in 2002 from the merger Logica and CMG.
Earlier this year the company let go 220 employees in Dublin and a further 95 in Cork citing the duplication of mobile software developers in the group as the reason for the layoffs.
The company employs 24,000 worldwide.
