Cut price airline takes off in Poland
Poland’s first budget airline took to the skies today, providing national carrier LOT with its first domestic competition on scheduled flights.
Air Polonia, which until now has operated charter and cargo services, opened the new low-cost operation with a flight from Warsaw to the Baltic Sea port of Gdansk.
The airline will start flights between Warsaw and London’s Stansted airport on December 15 for £42 (€60) return, including taxes
Its prices for domestic services start at £10 (€14.20) one way including taxes - roughly equivalent to Polish rail fares.
