The Beverage Council of Ireland is accusing the Government of contradicting its own policies in the 2004 Budget.

The Beverage Council of Ireland is accusing the Government of contradicting its own policies in the 2004 Budget.

The group has criticised the Minister for Finance for not reducing the VAT rate on soft drinks in the Budget.

The group says with the anti-drink driving campaigns, backed by the Government, it would have been a positive gesture in the run up to Christmas.
