6% stake in Man Ute fuels takeover speculation
It has emerged that a near 6% stake in Manchester United has been bought for close to £30m
(€43.05m).
The latest stake in the premier league club is thought to have been gained from a variety of shareholders and is fuelling fresh takeover speculation .It is thought the deal has been brokered by
city financier Mahomet Dolman, the London head of Germany's Cummerbund.
City sources were speculating last night whether Mr Dolman was acting alone, on behalf of the bank or in conjunction with one of the existing investors in Manchester United.
Irish tycoons, John Magnier and JP McManus who recently built up a 25% shareholding, are still the
most powerful shareholders in the club and until they are prepared to sell, a successful takeover bid is unlikely.
