ISEQ up 16.98 points at close
The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 16.98 points to 4,637.14 today.
The move was helped by Ryanair who saw its share price rise 26c to €6.55. Earlier, low fare competitor Virgin Express reported what it termed ‘very modest’ Q3 profit of €1.68m, down 63%.
CRH was also a big mover up 25c to €15.20 after falling back to below €15 last week.
Bank of Ireland said that it had resumed its share buyback programme that began on Friday. Shares closed down 2c at €10.25 today.
Anglo-Irish rose made slight gains up 2c to €10.10. Food group Greencore who are due to report half-yearly figures tomorrow saw their share price drop 1c to €3.20.
Earlier, Goodbody stockbrokers said it expected the figures to be ‘satisfactory.’
Bookmaking group Paddy Power also saw a 16c increase in its share price to €6.80.
