Atkins diet produces turnaround for beer brand
The low carb Atkins diet is producing a turnaround for the Miller Lite beer brand which has helped owner SAB to report a 60% jump in first half profits.
The drink had been in decline for years but thanks to its low-carbohydrate content the beer is a favourite for Atkins dieters.
The improvement helped the London-based group ,a merger between South African Breweries and Miller of the US, churn out earnings before interest and tax of $889m (€747.48m).
