Ryanair records 40m passengers at Stansted

Ryanair has carried 40m through Stansted airport since it began operations there in 1989.

The low fares airline also released figures that show new Ryanair passenger records will also be set all over Europe.

These include 4.1m passengers at Brussels Charleroi since 1998, 2.5m passengers at Paris-Beauvais since flights began in 1997 and 1.5m passengers at Milan-Bergamo, where a new base opened in February 2003.

Commenting on today's announcement, Ryanair's Head of Communications, Paul Fitzsimmons said: "This month we are reaching new landmark records, with 60m passengers in the UK having used Ryanair."
