Shell to close refinery in California

Shell/Royal Dutch Group said it will close its Bakersfield refinery in California in October next year due to the fall in the heavy crude supply at its main source in San Joaquin Valley.

Shell/Royal Dutch Group said it will close its Bakersfield refinery in California in October next year due to the fall in the heavy crude supply at its main source in San Joaquin Valley.

The closure will lead to a $200m (€170.25m) charge to the fourth quarter earnings of Shell Oil Products US, a unit of the group.
